Here are a few of our most commonly asked questions.

Enrolment Process

Once you’ve made the decision to enrol your child we will email you confirmation, including the paperwork and other important information. You simply complete the paperwork and return it to us, along with your deposit, within two weeks. When we have set your enrolment up for CCS you will need to confirm your enrolment through the MyGov app so CCS may be paid directly to us.

Absolutely! You are welcome to bring your child in for a play ahead of starting. Your primary educator will work with you to ensure you are able to come as often as you like and experience different parts of the day, even staying for lunch or a nap!

You know your child best, if you are uncomfortable leaving them then we welcome you to stay. There is no time limit on how long you can stay or for how many days. Your primary educator will work with you to develop a plan that meets your child’s needs.

Facilities & Provisions

Yes, we do. Being one of the original long day care services in Ryde our spaces are much larger than required under the Regulations. From the street it’s impossible to see just how perfect our spaces are! They are calm hubs perfect for creative minds to engage and develop. Our back garden is a one of a kind – it’s huge!

Our curriculum is the same as a pre-school, the Early Years Learning Framework. The differences are the hours (we are open from 7am to 6pm daily, 50 weeks of the year) and the age groups we cater for (pre-schools accept children over three years whereas we accept children from six months).

Our program has been successfully preparing children for school for several years now. With the same teacher and consistent educators, children from Cressy Road Cottage have enjoyed very successful transitions to school.

Our menus are developed in conjunction with the Australian Nutritional Guidelines. We ensure children have a variety of tastes and textures with limited sugars and fats.

Children with known allergies are required to provide an Action Plan and are always served a separately plated meal. Children with religious or cultural dietary requirements are catered for in the same way. Our Kitchen Manager devises individual menus for children with specialty diets that are as close as possible to the meals their peers are being served and do not unnecessarily eliminate nutritious foods. For example, if a child is pescatarian they will not be put on a vegetarian meal plan.

Fees & Benefits

Our fees differ for each room. If you would like a fee quote please click here.

CCS is a government payment based on a family’s activity hours and combined income. These payments are estimated on your account in advance but are paid in arrears. Estimates show on your statement in bold and underlined. Once the payment has been received the text will change to normal text.

Our fees cover all food (solid food), nappies, art and craft supplies and incursions. There are no administrations fees, enrolment fees or supplies fees.

To confirm your enrolment you will need to pay a deposit equivalent to two weeks of fees. Once you have started your enrolment with us this deposit will be credited against your fees.

Fees are due each fortnight, on the Monday. Families are welcome to deposit their fees into our bank account. Any fees not paid into our bank account by the due date will be deducted using a Direct Debit Authorisation that is completed upon enrolment.

All approved services in Australia must use an approved curriculum document. Our guiding document is the Early Years Learning Framework. This was endorsed in 2009 by the Council of Australian Government (COAG) and is used by most pre-schools and long daycare facilities.
